From the episode “Homer The Vigilante”:

The Springfield Shopper announces, “Zirconia Ztolen!”, and accuses Homer of being asleep. The picture shows Homer passed out with beer cans all around him. Homer realizes he’s still got a job to do, and he walks out the front door, only to be pelted by fruit and vegetables. Barney yells, “Go home, Simpson!” Jimbo walks up to Homer and empties a sack full of doorknobs in front of him:

Jimbo: You let me down, man. Now I don’t believe in nothing no more. I’m going to law school
Homer: Nooooooo!

so i don’t know how many of you have seen the commercials for this new movie “white noise” but holy crap that’s some scary shit. for those of you that haven’t heard of this movie, it revolves around this theory called “electronic voice phenomenon”. this theory says that the dead can communicate with the living via the everyday white noise that surrounds us (i.e. the static snow on the tv).

of course i don’t readily believe such theories, but i was just telling angela that i saw the longer commercial just now for the movie and they have people playing recordings they’ve made from the white noise and the recordings are people talking but the people were all dead. movies never scare me and i don’t necessarily buy this theory, but like i said, this commercial scared the shit out of me.

at the end of the commecial, they give the website for this EVP (http://www.aaevp.com) and against my better judgment i went to the website. i listened to some of the recordings and let me reiterate, scared the shit out of me. again, i don’t put a lot of faith in this theory. i mean sure with the right modulation and whatnot, you can make static sound like whatever you want, but the concept itself is freaky and the recordings don’t help.

oh yeah, so i finished up finals and now with this EVP stuff, i guess i have 2 reasons to cry myself to sleep tonight and then wake up in a cold sweat later.

Public service is my thing

Don’t do it for the ring, don’t do it for the bling.”
