so i have a real (and long overdue) entry in the works, but for now i thought i’d share a little something i found while applying for a job with the san bernardino county district attorney’s office. there’s a page where, for statistical purposes, they ask applicants to indicate their ethnicity and these are two of the options:

White (not of Hispanic origin): All persons having origins in any of the original peoples of Europe, North Africa, the Middle East, or the Indian Subcontinent.

Asian or Pacific Islanders: All persons having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Indiana [sic] subcontinent, or the Paccific [sic] Islands. This area includes, for example, China, Japan, Korea, the Philippine Islands, and Samoa.

SO, according to the san bernardino county human resources department, i’m white and dave letterman is asian. interesting. sometimes the inland empire doesn’t do itself any favors. and yes, i’m still going to apply for the job. by the by, the gnarls barkley and angels & airwaves albums are currently rocking my socks off. you should all acquire them…somehow.

check out what might be the first instance of a serious french offensive in history:

i tell you, i was stunned when i saw this yesterday. i spent the next 10 minutes rewinding, fast forwarding, and advancing frame by frame on my tivo. yeah, it was childish, classless and completely contrary to the spirit of the world cup, but let’s also not forget, he headbutted the dude in the chest. that’s hardcore is what that is. i guess hockey players aren’t the only ones that can put up a fight.

insignificant thoughts » Blog Archive » Cancelling AOL

well, as much as i hate taking more of this guy’s bandwidth than digg has already taken, i can’t help it. its too damn funny. basically, the dude calls aol to cancel his account and the customer service rep essentially refuses to cancel the account. while this something anyone who has ever had aol has experience, this takes it to a whole new level. the audio is a little low on the file but just turn it up, its totally worth it. the guy’s name is vincent ferrari and he was even interviewed on the today show. the video is on youtube, its short and its worth a watch.
