so i know its been a while but its been a fairly busy last 3 weeks. loooong story short, i’m all settled in here in riverside. after spending a week in a hotel and going jumping through more hoops than a circus monkey i got myself and apartment. its a little more than i wanted to pay but considering all the places in town that are in my ideal price range are full of rowdy college kids that would most likely break into my car, i’m not complaining. the first few nights were awesome. it was just like camping but indoors. all i had was a sleeping bag, pillow, 2 suitcases of clothes and a kitchen full of plastic dishes. i didn’t even have hot water the first two days. i would’ve lit a camp fire if it wouldn’t cost me my security deposit.

i came up over thanksgiving and loaded up a uhaul full of furniture and various other acoutrements so my place would actually look like someone lived in it. the whole family came down on saturday to help me move my stuff. my dad and i spent saturday night putting together some furniture. let me just say that futons are surprisingly difficult to assemble and allen wrenches are amazingly ineffecient tools for furniture assembly. my place is still full of boxes (some that need to be unpacked, some that need to be tossed) but i’m working on it.

other than that, work is cool. i finished up training last wednesday and i started taking cases on monday. fisrt couple days were crazy but i’m getting adjsuted to the caseload and getting a hang of the process. from what i hear, i’ll be “bulletproof” after a month so that’s something to look forward to. in the meantime, i have cable now and i need to work out a system for figuring which of my 120 channels to watch and which not to watch. hell, i can’t even decide on ice cream at cold stone, so cable is blowing my mind right now. but i’ll tell you this, no mtv. never. ever.

i know i haven’t mentioned this yet, but i got myself a job: deputy public defender for riverside county. this, of course, means that i’m moving to riverside. i start this thursday and i’m driving down tomorrow. i’ve spent the last two weeks hurriedly getting everything i need to move down. this has been mostly work clothes and various other things. i’m not planning on moving the big stuff until thanksgiving when i’ve got four straight days to get back to norcal and load up a van. i’m not quite sure where i’m going to live yet but that’ll work itself out. for now i’m gonna be staying at a hotel in ontario while i check out some apartments. i’m not sure what kind of internet access i’l have at the hotel but i’ll try to keep you all updated.

other than that, i’m excited to be starting work if for no other reason than that i’ve never been out of work for this long. i’m looking forward to hanging out with my peeps in socal that i don’t get to see nearly often enough and i’ll catch you all on the flip side once i get settled in.

ME 3:24 AM Nov 06 2006

I have a high speed internet account and i’m trying to setup an account on att yahoo dial so i can access the internet while i’m on a trip

ME 3:25 AM Nov 06 2006

i get to the point in the setup where i enter my sbcglobal email address and password and then it says no account exists

Rose 3:25 AM Nov 06 2006

I understand your concerns and acknowledge them completely.

ME 3:27 AM Nov 06 2006

so how do i go about accessing the internet using dial-up if yahoo dial won’t recognize my account info?

Rose 3:28 AM Nov 06 2006

As I understand that you wish to create the e-mail account which you can use while you are on the trip.

Rose 3:28 AM Nov 06 2006

I wish to let you know that you can use any of your sub accounts you have created in AT &T Yahoo! DSL.

Rose 3:28 AM Nov 06 2006

Please do not worry at all. I am providing you all the information needed.

ME 3:30 AM Nov 06 2006

i don’t want to create an e-mail address. i already have on of those. i have a high speed account and i’m supposed to be able to access the internet using dial-up if i’m away from home. but when i put in my account info, it tells me its invalid. how do i get yahoo dial to recignize that i have a dsl account and let me finish installation?

Rose 3:33 AM Nov 06 2006

I would suggest you to visit the web link http://help.sbcglobal.net/article.php?item=4200&f_os=winxp&action=Refresh for all the detailed information regarding creating dial up networking connections.

Rose 3:34 AM Nov 06 2006

After visiting the web link you can access the access numbers and set up a dial connection by visiting one more web link http://help.sbcglobal.net/article.php?item=2034

Rose 3:34 AM Nov 06 2006

I am positive both the weblinks will answer all the queries. I will appreciate if you let me know are you able to access the link. You can click on the web link to open it.

ME 3:35 AM Nov 06 2006

yes, the links work

ME 3:36 AM Nov 06 2006

so i have to manually create the connection rather than using the yahoo dial program?

Rose 3:36 AM Nov 06 2006

I really appreciate your efforts. Is there anything else I can help you with?

ME 3:37 AM Nov 06 2006

no, that’s it

Rose 3:37 AM Nov 06 2006

Yes, you have to follow the procedure as suggested in the web link.

Rose 3:37 AM Nov 06 2006

I want to let you know that you may receive a survey, requesting to rate the service you received from me. Please take a few minutes to fill this out and let my manager know how I am doing and how satisfied you are with the support you received from SBC Internet Services.

Rose 3:37 AM Nov 06 2006

You are our valued customer and your satisfaction will always be our foremost priority. I appreciate your patience during the whole chat session.

ME 3:37 AM Nov 06 2006

ok

the only reason i bothered asking for “help” was b/c its 3:30 in the morning and i’m too lazy/tired to bother manually setting up a connection. though i’m glad my problem was acknowledged and that “rose” felt “she” was providing me with all the “information” i need. i didn’t know they’ve finally resorted to using chatbots for real tasks now.
