phase 4: completed

well, after drilling at the screws for nearly an hour and changing bits 3 times, the disc stack is finally removed. i was hoping to just drill through the top of the screw head but i ended up having to drill through the entire case. it came out to almost half a centimeter of solid steel. though new problem, the same tiny torx screws that required the drill are holding the stack together. more drilling with various size bits has proven useless. short of an angle grinder, the screws aren't coming out.

the 1gb drive was next on my agenda but it is covered in the same tiny screws and as much as i would love to spend a whole day drilling away at them, i think i'll just keep an eye out for the right size torx screw driver.
